As the only Joint Venture Partner Golf Club of The European Tour and a part of the prestigious European Tour Destinations, IMG Prestige and Pacific Links Network, London Golf Club provides an oasis of golfing tranquillity in 700 acres of idyllic Kent countryside, just 20 miles from the Capital. With its all-encompassing facilities and convenient access to major motorways, rail networks and international airports, the club is uniquely positioned to welcome and cater for visiting golfers, corporate golf days, meetings and weddings in addition to providing a membership experience that surpasses expectations.
Jack Nicklaus inspired a generation to play golf, and he was our inspiration at London Golf Club. As a player he stood head and shoulders above the field, as a course designer, his name is the mark of excellence.
The club officially opened in July 1994, with the Charity Challenge Skins Match played on the Heritage Course. Jack Nicklaus – the course designer – battled with Seve Ballesteros and Tony Jacklin, but in the end Seve’s magical short game helped him win. Since then both golf courses have hosted many Professional events.
The courses at London Golf Club continue that success and have already hosted the best players in the world. We are proud to be associated with Jack Nicklaus and his team.
The Heritage course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature design that bears all the hallmarks of the 18-time Major Champion. Host to the 2008 and 2009 European Open, the course provides an exhilarating test for golfers of all abilities. Maintained in pristine condition all-year round, with fast-rolling greens and immaculately presented tee-boxes and fairways, the Heritage is rightly regarded as one of the country’s finest golfing experiences.
The International course is pure down land. Long grasses sway in an ever-changing breeze. The course is naturally firmer and the quick undulating fairways force a links-style approach, while short holes over water provide dramatic respite. Home of the 2018 and 2019 Staysure PGA Seniors Championship and having hosted both the Volvo World Match Play Championship and Regional Open Qualifying, this course proves a tough test for the most talented of golfers while providing the opportunity to shoot some great scores with a number of risk-reward holes.
London Golf Club and The European Tour announced at the beginning of 2010 their intention to undertake a wide-ranging partnership which will spearhead the new Venue and Property Strategy of the Tour.
The terms of the strategic partnership have positioned London Golf Club as the flagship venue within the European Tour Destinations. The Club is now known as a European Tour Destination and the partnership sees the mutually beneficial development of the venue, with the aim of developing additional facilities to add to our offering that has already become recognised as one of the country’s finest golf venues.
